Online Therapy

Online Therapy has many names, including: distance therapy, e-counselling, and online psychotherapy. It is a relatively new way of providing therapy. This method of delivering therapy has many advantages over traditional therapy, namely:

  • Many clients feel they can speak to an online therapist more easily than a traditional therapist. They may feel the option of not using video allows them to have a greater sense of anonymity. 
  • Attending therapy is easier and less time consuming because the need to travel is eliminated. Online therapy makes it possible to provide therapy to those who cannot travel to a local therapist.
  • Online therapy can be cheaper than traditional therapy as it cuts out many costs for both the therapist and the client. These costs include travel costs and the cost of expensive counselling space. These savings can then be passed on to the client.
  • The client can choose a therapist that best suits their needs. No longer are they limited to only the therapists practising in their locality.

How to Get Started with Online Therapy

I offer therapy using software such as Skype and therapy can take the form of audio only calls, video calls, instant messaging or, if you'd prefer, messages sent via email.
